Violence Prevention and Peacebuilding: Evidence to Action
The Safety and Violence Initiative (SaVI) at the University of Cape Town is inviting abstracts for papers to be presented at a conference titled, Violence Prevention and Peacebuilding: Evidence to Action which will take place from 7- 8 November 2019.
This conference will take place at the River Club in Observatory, Cape Town. The conference will be multidisciplinary, and hence abstracts from all relevant academic fields are welcome.
This conference offers an opportunity for researchers from all relevant academic disciplines working on violence prevention and safety promotion to present their current research. Practitioners involved in this field are also encouraged to submit abstracts.
Call for papers
Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words in which you list a title; and clearly state the research objectives, methodology and findings. In addition, please include your bio and contact details.

Successful applicants will be informed by 7 August 2019.
No honorarium or speaker fee will be paid to conference presenters. All conference presenters and attendees are required to pay the registration fee.
Registration fees (including lunch and refreshments):
- Full conference fee (Academic/Professional) – R 2,900.00 early registration
- Full conference fee (Academic/Professional) – R 3,450.00 late registration (from 1 October 2019)
- Full conference fee (Student) – R 1,850.00 early registration
- Full conference fee (Student) – R 2,400.00 late registration (from 1 October 2019)
