ICT & healthy communities

Positive role models for young people and pro-social activities are two key factors for resilience social cohesion in communities affected by violence and poverty.

This project entails research on the piloting of a smartphone app that seeks to provide incentives for those individuals interested in community development to establish activity groups relating to physical activities (such a sports matches and walking groups), hobbies and life skills.

The pilot site is the rural town of Bredasdorp in the Western Cape. See more about the app here.
